A romantic wedding in the winter, it’s possible at Landgoed Rhederoord

Getting married in the winter months can be very romantic. Imagine driving to the location in a carriage or horse-drawn sleigh. Then follows an idyllic welcome in a warm and intimate Manor House, with fire pits on both sides of the beautiful entrance. The manor hall, where the wedding ceremony takes place, is illuminated by beautiful candlesticks, with a roaring fire in the background. The winter atmosphere is visible throughout the entire Manor House. And you can even raise a toast with a glass of mulled wine instead of the usual glass of champagne …

A fairy-tale landscape
The location of Landgoed Rhederoord is perfect for a fairy-tale winter wedding. With a bit of luck, the snow will adorn our country estate, which is perfect for beautiful wedding photos. Both our Coach House and the Manor House offer a comfortable and cosy place to stay and with the right lighting we create the atmosphere of a beautiful winter’s day or evening. If you wish, we can light the authentic fireplace in the wedding room. If you and your guests dare to face the cold, then even in the winter a ceremony can take place in the gardens with covered tents and patio heaters.

Winter dishes
A winter wedding can of course be as classic as you want – also with regard to the menu. If you would like prawn cocktails, steak with asparagus and a bavarois, then our chef can certainly prepare this for you. Or preferably a winter atmosphere during the dinner, this is also an option. How about a steaming stew or casserole or a tasty oven dish? Together with the dessert we can also serve a cup of hot chocolate with whipped cream. There are also other winter details available such as coconut flakes and marshmallows.

Winter decorations
There are numerous possibilities for decorating a winter wedding. For instance, you can create a cosy atmosphere with candles and soft blankets spread around the room. You can give your wedding a Christmas feeling by introducing red and green colours. Or apply a classic look and decor in gold and silver.
